Kiyoshi Mino has an Amherst alum who served in the army for four years after graduation, spent a year deployed in Afghanistan and another year doing aid and development work. There he was inspired to lead a simpler, more sustainable life. After finishing graduate school, he enrolled in The Farm School and has been learning how to farm organically. In September he will be starting a farm with his wife in Central Illinois.
As part of a fiber arts class in January, Kiyoshi learned how to needle felt. Since then, he has created some incredible works, mostly of wild animals. These incredibly realistic creations are one of a kind, and are a great gift idea for anyone who loves animals!
