We heart our sponsors, Cotton Factory and get really excited for their TeeRex events taking place during Penn Avenue’s Unblurred for the first Friday of the month. Check out all of their featured guests this month!
-Hello Bully will be set up with an education table and maybe a furry friend looking for a forever home. Come learn about the benefits of Pit-Bull rescue and it’s positive effect on our community. TeeRex-designed and printed limited edition tees and totes will be for sale (June only!) with a portion of the proceeds going to our buddies at Hello Bully. They will be posted on our site on June 1, 2011.
-Dana Valente will be bringing by a beautiful selection of her handmade jewelry inspired by nature, and finding beauty in the overlooked discarded treasures. She creates elaborate assemblage pieces made from salvaged vintage items.
-Show off your love for the city of bridges, all 446 of them.
The LOVEPGH tee was created with love by our local guest designer, Alex Hendershott. The LOVEPGH logo was a spin-off from a previous project that now has a new birth in t-shirt form. Beginning June 3, 2011, the LOVEPGH design will be available for sale at the TeeRex Syndicate Unblurred event. The design will only be available on white for this Unblurred event.
-Bitchin’ handmade wares from one of TeeRex’s own, seamstress Megan of That’s What She Thread. Aprons that look like sweet summer dresses, utility belt types, embroidered fabric napkins, baby items and accessories in an impressive array of new and repurposed vintage fabrics! Find Megan at many I Made It Markets!
-Zeke’s Coffee, our spankin’ new local-roaster neighbors, will be serving hot and iced coffee; which you can have any way you like: black, or kick it up a notch with a shot of Frangelico, Kahlua or Bailey’s! You can also check them out on Monday’s at the East Liberty Farmers Market and the actual roastery at 6012 Penn Avenue will be opening to the public in mid June.
-Gourmet Hot Dogs to satisfy your savory cravings for purchase from our friends at Franktuary! (Veggie options available)
-Free yummy East End Brewery beer!
-Last month’s tote collection was a huge success so we’re continuing our partnership as a drop-off location with the Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project so don’t forget to bring in your totes to donate! The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project collects new and gently used tote bags to distribute to food pantries in the community. Tote bags reduce reliance on disposable bags (helping the environment) and increase the food pantry client’s ability to transport large, bulky or heavy items home to their families. For more information, visit www.tote4pgh.org The project is an official partner with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
