April and Molly’s creations naturally came about because I discovered Molly made beautiful candles with recycled materials and I love to mosaic votives for candles and I also use recycled materials. We are both single mothers who work for the Art Institute, and we both also dabble in jewelry making. What a perfect match.

My name is April and I’ve been making mosaics since 1998. I love to use recycled and salvaged materials because I believe there are so many objects that are typically thrown away and forgotten that can be made into a one – of - a – kind piece of art or home décor. I love crafting and making things by hand because it helps me focus (something that I find very difficult to do.) I also like buying things that are hand made from other artists because it is special, it helps support a local artist, and it is stamped with that artist’s personal touch.

My name is Amelia and I have been making candles since 2009. I have always made candles for my own home and never thought anyone would want to purchase them until recently. I really enjoy making candles and crafting in general because it helps me to relax. I am a very busy single mom and I do not get very much time to myself but, when I am making my candles I am in my own world. I hope that people buy enjoy burning my candles as much as I enjoy making them.
