Steve Korpa was an Art Teacher for thirty-five years in the Pittsburgh Public Schools; he retired in 1997.
During his Teaching career he received the following recognition :
1989… Honored by the Reader’s Digest as one of ten teachers in the United States to be named an “American Hero in Education”.
1990… Chosen by the Walt Disney Company as one of thirty-six teachers in the United States to receive an “American Teacher Award”.
1991… Received a citation from the General Assembly of Pennsylvania in recognition of his teaching contributions.
1992… Given a “Distinguished Alumni in Education Award”, by Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
