Market gives me more than any other show – something worth so much more than even the very best day of sales. It gives me a community. Carrie is a connector. She connects with makers on a deeply personal level. She calls everyone by name and takes a genuine interest in their lives and their work. She makes connections between the people and businesses in her circle, always looking outside of herself for ways to help others realize their full potential. Being an entrepreneur isn’t for the faint of heart. It can be isolating, stressful, and overwhelming. I Made It! Market is the cure. The I Made It! Market community is inclusive and empowering. It provides a sense of belonging and support. It has brought people, who are used to being alone by the nature of their craft, together – to be each other’s friends, cheerleaders, inspirations, and co-conspirators. I Made It! Market offers empowerment and a belief that nothing is insurmountable because we’re all in this together. In a society and market that teach competition and self-preservation, Carrie and I Made It! I have been participating in I Made It Market events for the past four years. I enjoy working with the I Made It Team for many many reasons but here are a few; They advocate for artists here locally in Pittsburgh, offering workshops, social gatherings, other vending events, They are impeccable at communicating and available day/night through e-mail to answer questions, concerns or to get advice. I've had staff booth sit for me, and help carry items to my car. After working with many show promoters over the past nine years, although most are organized and friendly, I feel the I Made It Team overall brings something else, they actually care if our business does well they do this by providing advertising tips with press kits, helping with booth design ideas and tips on engaging with customers.
