Buddha Studio Arts
I like to re-use materials for my art, from beautiful sari cloth to soda pop cans and coffee bags. And I try not to use other materials in the usual way, making free-form stained glass candle surrounds instead of following someone else’s pattern, or turning company logos into stained glass mosaics. I also take ordinary materials, like flannel cloth, and see the art in how frayed they can become.
I have been painting in oils since I was a child, and have enjoyed runs at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival and others locally. I also do large wood carvings and other household pieces that decorate my house in Greenfield, where I live with my husband, kids and dogs. Everything I make is from my own design and each item is unique.

Hello,
I work for an event planning company in Pittsburgh. We are currently working on an upcoming eco-friendly event, and we are looking for an artist to help us design the awards that will be presented at the event. Because this event is going to be focused on going “green,” we would like the awards to be made out of priced-out reclaimed wood. Our clients do not want the reclaimed wood to look like traditional awards but to remain in a more natural state. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in helping us with, please email me as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Emily
