Maggie Broderick of Burgh Baby Gear (www.burghbabygear.com) has been crafting all of her life, mostly with yarn and fabric. Maggie’s grandmother and aunt taught her to knit and crochet when she was a young child, but Maggie became completely obsessed with knitting around the time she became pregnant with her first child. Now a mother of two, Maggie has combined her love of fiber arts with her love of her family and the environment by starting her own business related to wool diaper covers.
Between eco-savvy parents, the internet, and the availability of higher-quality materials, cloth diapering has taken off in recent years. When Maggie started learning about cloth diapers, she quickly became an expert on knitting beautiful wool diaper covers. In addition to her book, ”Knitting Wool Diaper Covers from Start to Finish” (written and printed right here in the ‘Burgh!), Maggie specializes in her own hand-painted wool yarns, hand-knitted wool diaper covers, other hand-crafted items, patterns/tutorials, and knitting and dyeing supplies for creating your own heirloom creations.
