My search for unique answers to day to day problems brought me directly to the wonder of
beadwork. I had never been the crafty type until I began seeing the potential for beads to help me
fill small needs requiring simple and, I hoped, lovely solutions. A new prescription for reading glasses
called for eyeglass holders, and so I began stringing. Years of enduring migraines were met with healing
strength magnetic beads, a simple solution to western medicine that, I have found, work on so many
ailments, aches, and pains. My work with packs of dogs left the car smelling like a kennel, a problem
easily and beautifully solved with essential oil diffusers for small spaces. And so began JOPAsoundmind,
a formal opportunity for creating pieces to share with others that provide functional beauty; beaded
solutions to common problems.
