Lazypeas

lazypeas, photo, i made it market, plush, recycled materials, repurposedMy name is Lynn Patton and since I grew up in the 70′s I have always liked recycling and being eco friendly. Like a lot of today’s crafters I love to find something discarded and remake it into something new. I started Lazypeas about 15 years ago making cards using vintage paper goods and photographs. I learned to sew at a young age so I particularly liked working with fabrics. In the last few years I have started buying my fabric supplies at local thrift stores and transforming them with hand and machine stitching. I especially like felting wool sweaters, pants and skirts to make small animals, wristlets, flowers and bags. I moved to the Pittsburgh area in 2003 and fell in love with the people and the city. The energy, the blue collar common sense, and the creativeness are all here and make it a great city to be in. Besides the I Made It markets, I sell my items in the Artists Market on most Saturdays at 20th and Penn and online in my Etsy store called Lazypeas.

Hello Lynn, I am a tourist friend of your mother in her Swansboro Quilt Shop. Sometimes I find chenille and other fabrics that she usually passes on to you, I think. I always love to see what you’ve made that she has in her shop. She has made a couple of beautiful rugs, out of old sheets that I collected, for my home on the river in Swansboro as well as one for our restored log cabin in Apex, NC.

She was telling today of your web site and I couldn’t wait to get home and check it out only to see, as she had advised, that you are not on right now. I’d especially like to see your bracelets that she mentioned made from old buttons. I carry a license plate purse made by Littlearth there in PA so I too am interested in preserving our “old stuff”.

I have a niece who lives near Philadelphia and I’m going to send her your info. She may already know of your shop since she, too loves the vintage things.

Please add my email address to your list and let me know when you’ll be back on line.

    Thank you so very much.
