Find Lines and Shapes Jewelry online
I have always been interested in making jewelry. When I was a kid, I made jewelry and tried to sell it when I went to flea markets with my parents. As a buyer too, I also have always been drawn to jewelry that stands out and really expresses something about my own personal style. I feel really lucky that I came across other sellers of shrink plastic jewelry who inspired me. I had never even thought of it but I saw what some other people were doing and I took my own angle on it. I think my jewelry is very unique because it is hand-drawn. Not many jewelry makers can say their jewelry is “hand-drawn”! I use really bright colors and geometric and sometimes abstract designs that are eye catching and my jewelry is also very lightweight, which is a great benefit to many people who don’t want to be weighed down by heavy jewelry!
Since I’ve been making things and selling on etsy and in craft fairs, I feel so great when I can explain to people how I do it and when children admire it and want to touch it. Some people ask, “Is it glass? Is it wood?” or say “Well, THAT’S different!” I really enjoy connecting with people as a maker. I know that buying things can be such an impersonal experience most of the time and, living in New York, most of the stores that you go into, the staff doesn’t care in the slightest about you- how can they? They have to help thousands of people daily. So it’s a really special experience to me to make connections with customers. I can do special orders for them and I can put my personal touch on everything I do.
I am on Etsy and a member of the 5 Boroughs Team on Etsy as well as a new member of Steel Town Etsy of Pittsburgh. I sell at local NYC handmade markets and will hopefully continue to sell in Pittsburgh’s I Made It Market in the future!
