Growing up in the backwoods of the Prettyboy watershed, entertaining myself meant countless hours of playing in the trees. There I grew especially close to nature. Most of my art consists of Up-Cycled work. Taking things once considered garbage and making them into something beautiful and useful again. Imagination is my escape mechanism, and art is my tool. Using nature as my inspiration, I try to capture the balance needed in life. I create the sweet and innocent to accompany my dark demons. I take reality and make it whimsical. Through my art work I also try to address and redefine the concept of trash. Society is so wasteful, and by using reclaimed garbage I am able to help people reevaluate their concept of what has use and what does not. Old altoids’ tins, bottle caps, soda can pull tabs, these are my canvases. My art provides an outlet for all the creative energies I used to expend playing in the trees. I find solace in the creative process. My interpretation of the world comes out in a spectrum of bright colors accompanied by dark and prominent lines. I try to illuminate the will of the creative force that flows through us all, and allow it to freely pour through my fingers and emotions.
