Silent Lotus

I’m Kylie of SilentLotus Creations, a vegan artisan from Pittsburgh who thinks we have the best crafty community around!

I handcraft new jewels from antique & vintage jewelry, findings, and components (many pieces are of 100% vintage parts) and from sterling silver, brass, and gemstones. I am also a painter, and make giclee prints & fine art magnets and jewelry from my original Chinese brush paintings of botanicals, birds, and other animals. I love infusing simplicity and nature and all the beauty that is part of that into my work. Upcycling and reusing to be eco- friendly in my creating is very important to me, so I do so as much as possible. My work is available online at http://silentlotus.etsy.com and at local art & craft events throughout the year. Follow me on Facebook and Twitter to find out about my upcoming shows, or check out my blog!
Supporting local indie artisans and other businesses has a huge positive impact. Of every $1 spent in the local economy, 68 cents of that is generated back into the community!
Not only that, local businesses generate three and a half times the local economic activity as chains do and 70% more local economic impact per square foot than chain stores! Choosing to spend your dollars with indie businesses rather than
in chain stores is one of the most important ways of boosting the area’s economic health. An easy way to start is by shopping at local handmade events like I Made It! Market!

My name is Alana. I’m a Development Associate at the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. WC&S hosts an annual event at the Galleria of Mt. Lebanon in November called Shop to Stop Domestic Violence. Shop to Stop is an exclusive shopping and dining event. We offer the opportunity for local jewelry and artisan vendors to sell their merchandise at the event. We would love to invite you to participate in this year’s event. I have an information packet with involvement details that I can mail to you if you are interested. If so, can you give me your mailing address? I can also email the information packet to you as a .pdf if you provide me with a regular email address.

We hope you will join us in celebrating intimate partner violence survivors! This is a great opportunity to sell and market your jewelry to over 600 anticipated guests.

Please feel free to call or email me with any questions you might have.
