Though my grandmother taught me how to crochet as a child (really just a chain stitch that I continued for yards and yards), I didn’t truly begin to knit or crochet until a little over 3 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child and ordered bedrest. I’d just moved from Illinois to Pennsylvania to escape an unfortunate set of circumstances and was looking for something to both calm my nerves and support myself and new family, so my Etsy page (WAHMlabs.etsy.com) was born.
My son’s demand for attention (and a broken thumb) have slowed production considerably since those days. When I’m not knitting, crocheting, or parenting, I’m also a graduate student studying psychology and a counselor for at-risk children. I live in Pittsburgh’s East End with my son Eliot (3) and our cat, Lola June.
